Pioneer PRO-950HD

Released in 2007 as part of Pioneer’s 8th-generation ELITE lineup, the PRO-950HD is a premium 42-inch high-definition XGA Plasma TV engineered for videophile performance. Featuring Pioneer's signature Deep Encased Cell Structure, Crystal Emissive Layer, and Direct Color Filter, it achieved a then-unprecedented 16,000:1 native contrast ratio by significantly reducing idle panel luminance to produce exceptionally deep black levels. As an ELITE-tier model, differentiating itself from the standard PDP-4280HD, the PRO-950HD provided advanced ISFccc calibration controls, an extra year of warranty coverage, a high-gloss piano black bezel, and robust processing capabilities including 1080p/24Hz signal handling, Home Media Gallery networking, and independent per-input video memory.
